Led by the acclaimed conductors Pearl Shangkuan and Saul Zaks, the festival’s program takes you on a rich musical journey—traveling through centuries of European sacred music with Vivaldi’s radiant Gloria and Schubert’s magnificent Magnificat, and across the Americas with soulful North American spirituals and the vibrant seasonal sounds of Ariel Ramirez’s works, all brought to life by the voices of participating singers in a truly unforgettable concert experience.

Dr. Pearl Shangkuan is an internationally renowned conductor, lecturer, and clinician who has led performances and workshops on six continents. She serves as National President-elect of the American Choral Directors Association and is Professor Emerita at Calvin University, as well as chorus director of the Grammy-nominated Grand Rapids Symphony.

Saul Zaks

an acclaimed conductor

Saul Zaks, is an acclaimed conductor known for creating cross-cultural connections through music. As Artistic Director of the Misatango Festival and the Summa Cum Laude Festival, he continues to inspire global audiences, with highlights including premieres at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. His work has earned nominations for both the Danish Music Awards and the Latin Grammy Awards.
